Clinton Vs Bush?

No this is not politics. Key speakers in N.O. were Bill Clinton and George Bush Sr. Like most of the 8,000 in the packed room, I was there more particularly to see one over the other, but to my surprise and delight, we witnessed a remarkable event, a kind of funny man- straight man production. Surprisingly, Bush Sr. was funnier, but Clinton, more inspiring.

Here is what I took out of the room. That two previous political enemies have laid aside their differences and turned to peace and working together. They reported on their joint fundraiser, more info go here having raised $129 million and are still seeking donations. They said how they were able to complete more ground with 2 of them and how coming from different backgrounds, they could both still learn from each other.

There was slight “ribbing” about Jr on this aspect.

When asked about whether the election results would produce a Liberal congress. Both concurred that their own best work occurred when they were forced to compromise. They said the founding fathers were smart and created the constitution this way for a reason. “Whether you are on the Right or Left, don’t mistake this sign of stalemate or weakness. It is the process working: both presidents agreed.

It is perhaps a sign of the times, but a relief and long overdue in my opinion that this team have been asked to take part in a global initiative on Global Warming. This study is to be based on s study of about 10 cities. The Bush Clinton team asked that New Orleans, because of the rebuilding opportunities there, be added to the list. Then they secured a grant for 2 new green schools in the area.

It is good after recent years, to see that even a die hard Republican has a heart for the environment. Petty he is retired.

Finally, on whether the Clinton Bush dynasty would continue. Clinton said Hilary had not made up her going to run. He commended her victory in NY with 75%. Then said it was up to her, she had given him 26 years and he owes her the same!! Good dodge Bill, still a politician.

What a great pair of statesmen. After seeing them, I think we should have past presidents run the country.

I was only sorry for those who walked out after the first president spoke!!
