Real Estate Guy answers question on Radon in the home.

I just received a call from a friend about Radon.   She contacted me because she just had a test for Radon and found it to be high.   She asked what she should do next.

First question to answer is how high and how much exposure will you have.  ie.  how much time will you spend in the area tested (usually the basement).

Radon affects someone slowly and after years of exposure.  so if you were to sleep in the area, exposure would be higher than if you just do the laundry.  Younger people are also more susceptible to Radon exposure.

Once high levels are detected they always need to be disclosed.

No problem.  The fix is no longer prohibitive.  For about 5 years I have worked with and recommended to clients one company to come in and in about an hour, they will fit a system.

Then they leave a test and return to check the system is  working.   Work is guaranteed.

Eric of Freshaire systems will give you a quote over the phone and will stick by the quote even if if is more complex.   Price was around $650 last i checked.

Call Eric for radon 608 835 7669.

Call me if you are looking for a referral for some household service, from refinance to septic pumping.
