Keller Williams makes some bold projections, for example for 2010 they say they will have 170,000 agents. (compare this to the current size of 73,000 against the 2 top companies currently at around 110-120,000) and this is a very tall order.
This is from a company that has added about 50% agent numbers a year for the last 5 years since I became affiliated with the company.
However, I have been for a weeks overview of the company and I fully believe that the leadership that they have will drive the company to continue this momentum.
The leadership inspires and attracts the absolute best talent, most of which is the "cream" which has risen from the ranks.
The international office has dramatically increased in manpower over the last few years and now they are pumping out better technology, training etc to further the company agents.
I really believe Keller Williams claim that they will dominate the market in the near future.
Apart from that, I firmly believe this is the best thing for the agents since the Multiple Listing Service. Another bold claim. But every other company is based on improving the brokers $$$. Advertising the brokers brand, getting away with charging as much as possible, etc. Keller Williams trains the agent to focus on their own branding, with the philosophy that this is a local business driven by the agent. Another small benefit: the listing is the agents, and they can take them should they ever choose to leave.
Other reasons the company is competitive is the favorable commission split and agent input into decision making, but the real reason for the growth the Profit Share model. This gives huge, incentive to each and every agent to use their influence in the industry to help grow the company.
Imagine a company with available funds of $9 million to fund it's technology. Profit sharing with it's agents to the tune of $52 million, world beating leadership, incredible Models, training etc.
That is Keller Williams Realty. Those goals are daunting, but somehow, they will be achieved.
